Last weekend we were busy out and about on the streets of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and Bewdley, Worcestershire.

Cheltenahm Jazz Festival – About town performances!

Despite the rain, our full 11 piece line up popped up in 3 different spots for Cheltenham Jazz Festival; on the High St and The Promenade we brought some busking madness along, equipped with Dan on the “key-tar” (Prince tribute style) It gave us Wham’s Last Christmas perfectly for the interlude needed when the guitar amp broke and what joy to get the audience singing along!!!
After our pop up’s we marched up to the fabulous swank of No 131, The Promenade (host to Guy Garvey & Trevor Nelson later that evening). All set up on the front patio and ready to go, when the heavens poured, so off we soggily crumpled into Crazy 8’s below (their underground bar). This was like being part of a secret gig; everyone crammed into all the nooks and crannies (band included) and on tiered levels for a very intimate music session!

All in all the audience participation was brilliant with the forming of a make shift choir for St James Infirmary and When the Saints go Marching and we had a ball! Thanks Cheltenham Jazz Festival for having us!

Bewdley Spring Fair

Again, the rain fall on us poor British souls, but hey ho… We found ourselves a lovely arch sitting nicely under the grand Bewdley Bridge which kept us dry and drew the brave public under to join the band! We knocked out some sultry tunes that afternoon, with a thinned down version of Collective 43 (5 members only) and had some great engagement with the public who stayed out in the weather!

Thanks Bewdley Spring Fair! See you in October we hope……
